HEA was contracted to provide M/E/P consulting services for a renovation of an existing tenant space to accommodate a small commercial recreational cannabis cultivation facility. The facility uses two-tier racking to maximize the amount of canopy possible.
HEA worked closely with the owner, architect, and general contractor to design systems which fit within the limited initial capital budget. These systems included and upgraded electrical service, HVAC condensate recovery, a custom field-fabricated irrigation system, custom in-rack air distribution, and partial redundancy of the selected HVAC units.
The final design delivered an economical solution which can maintain acceptable growing conditions, all without sacrificing valuable growing space within the facility or requiring extensive structural re-work of the existing facility.
